The Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV III) Monument represents the vehicle used by the members of the Canadian Armed Forces that were deployed in Afghanistan.
The LAV III is dedicated to the 40,000 men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces and the 159 members who gave the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for cause of peace and freedom in Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014.
“The 1st Hussars Association and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 62 would like to thank the members of the City of Sarnia who have worked on the Committee and worked in the field and Park to make this dedication happen. Their support and labour has been very much appreciated by all members of the LAV III Afghanistan Monument Committee,” says Ron Prior, member of the 1st Hussars Association.
