New Appointments to Corporate Manager of Human Resources, Manager of PASA & Arenas, City Clerk and Deputy Clerk

The City of Sarnia is pleased to announce that the recruitments for Corporate Manager of Human Resources, Manager of PASA & Arenas, City Clerk, and Deputy Clerk have been successfully completed.


Corporate Manager of Human Resources

Mr. Jim Crawford has been appointed to the position of Human Resources Manager on a 12-month renewable contractual arrangement. Mr. Crawford will take on the duties of the manager position with specific deliverables. This will include the support of Irene McClymont, Human Resources Manager for the County of Lambton who will be assisting with bargaining processes in 2017.  Mr. Crawford is recently retired from Ontario Power Generation where he was employed as Senior Human Resources Manager, Southwest Operations. In that capacity he managed all aspects of human resources and labour relations within two generating stations and also undertook a number of corporate wide initiatives to continuously improve human resources services. Mr. Crawford has a Masters of Industrial Relations degree and holds a CHRL designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario. Mr. Crawford and his family are long-time residents of Sarnia.


Manager of PASA & Arenas

Mr. Trevor Sanderson has been appointed as Manager of Progressive Auto Sales Arena and Arenas. Mr. Sanderson joins the Parks and Recreation team with a great deal of facility management experience. His past experience includes positions of  Operations Manager of Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre, Building Operations Manager for the Western Fair Arena, Director of Recreation and Township Facilities with Zorra Township and Facility Manager/Specialist with Eurest Services.  Mr. Sanderson resides in Strathroy.


City Clerk and Deputy Clerk

Acting City Clerk Mrs. Dianne Gould-Brown has been appointed into the position permanently. Dianne brings to the position nearly 20 years of related municipal experience and has been with the City since July, 2014 in the position of Deputy Clerk.  Dianne is a Certified Municipal Officer and has completed the AMCTO Municipal Administration Program.

Mr. James Jenkins has been appointed to the position of Deputy Clerk.  Mr. Jenkins has a Master's Degree in History and brings with him extensive experience working in the public sector.  Most recently he held the position of Acting Director of Operations with Walpole Island First Nation.  Mr. Jenkins and his family reside in Sarnia.
