City Hall Flag Lowered April 28, 2017

By City Staff

The flag in front of City Hall is lowered to half-mast on Friday, April 28th, 2017 in recognition of the National Day of Mourning.  In 1984 the Canadian Labour Congress declared a National Day of Mourning for workers killed and injured on the job.

The Sarnia and District Labour Council, Workers Health and Safety Centre, Victims of Chemical Valley and the Occupational Health Clinic for Ontario Workers will hold a ceremony at the Clifford Hansen Fire Hall (East Street) at 6:00 p.m. to recognize workers in the community and throughout Canada who have lost their lives, been injured or suffered illnesses that have occurred in the workplace.
