NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Sarnia have declared the lands shown below as surplus at its July 11, 2016 meeting.  It is proposed that these lands be rezoned and sold.

Further to this decision, Council at its January 16th, 2017 Council Meeting, adopted the following resolution: “That Rezoning Application No. 5-2016-85 of 2002 and OPA No. 2 be deferred for a 6 month period to permit Staff to undertake a community planning process that will consider a mix of park and residential uses and amenities for Baxter Park and Kinsmen Centre Lands.”

Following through with Council’s direction staff met twice with a group of area residents (April 6 & April 19, 2017) who provided written comments and spoke at the Public Meeting regarding the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments respecting 656 Lakeshore Road – the Kinsmen Centre property.

Staff would now like to consult with the residents at large to present proposals with elements that address Council’s direction and to provide feedback on matters raised at the April 6 & 19 Meetings.

Following this meeting, Staff will draft a follow-up report to Council for its consideration at the Regular Council Meeting on Monday July 10, 2017.
