Help Paint the Canada 150 Mosaic
By City Staff
In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the City of Sarnia is participating in a nation-wide project to create a mural including all provinces and territories, comprised of over 80,000 paintings and 150 individual murals that when connected, will form one gigantic mural mosaic.
The united mural will represent a cultural mosaic, a time capsule, a visual portrayal of history, and an art masterpiece from the soul of the nation. Upon the completion of the Canada 150 Mosaic, our community mural will reside here in the city. This will serve as a reminder of the 150th anniversary, and the pride of the community and the nation. Sarnia’s conceptual mosaic design is depicted in the picture below.
You can participate in the project by hand painting a 4” tile tomorrow in front of City Hall, off of Christina Street at one of the following sessions: Tuesday, June 13: 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m.-3:00p.m.
To register, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Drop-ins are also welcome. We will be limited to the number of tiles.
