Resurfacing on County Road 16 (London Road) in Sarnia
Thursday, June 15, 2017
Sarnia, ON - The County of Lambton is advising the public of a full, one-day intersection closure, followed by lane restrictions and overnight construction work, scheduled to occur in Sarnia beginning next week.
The London Road (County Road 16) - Murphy Road intersection is scheduled to be closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., Monday, June 19 in order to remove the current asphalt surface and resurface the intersection. The County has been working with the City of Sarnia on plans for the project. Sarnia Transit says it will be adjusting its routes for the day accordingly.
For approximately four weeks following, motorists should expect minor delays on London Road, from Murphy Road to Finch Drive/Lambton Mall Road during the day. More significant delays should be expected during the overnight hours as the County, having received an exemption to the City of Sarnia's Noise By-Law, will complete the majority of its resurfacing work overnight to minimize the impact to surrounding businesses.
All businesses will remain open for the duration of the project.
The project is scheduled to be complete by Friday, July 14, weather permitting.
Advanced signage, alerting motorists to potential delays, is in place.
The public is asked to remain conscientious of road workers and to observe the posted speed limit as well as any other construction related signage.
