Status of Watermain Break on Colborne Road

By City Staff

Just before 9:00 a.m. the Public Works Department received a call of a ruptured watermain on Colborne Road between Rosedale Avenue and Hall Street. This is the second watermain break on this 20 inch watermain this summer. The quick response by the works crew reduced any property damage due to flooding.

Public Works staff has begun excavating to determine the required repair to this section of watermain.  At present there is no direct cause of this watermain break.

Colborne Road from Rosedale Avenue to Hall Street will be closed today for the watermain repair. The determination of full asphalt repair or temporary repairs will be based on the magnitude of the repair and availability of materials.
