By-Law Staff to Conduct Sweep of Signs on Public Lands

By City Staff

The City has received a number of complaints regarding advertising signs (push-in style) being located in contravention of Sign By-Law 65 of 2014. This by-law prohibits signs on City boulevards and intersections.

By-law staff will be conducting a sweep of the City on Thursday, September 1 to remove advertising signs located on public lands.

The public is asked to ensure signs are located clearly on private lands to ensure they are not removed during this time. If signs have been placed on private land without permission, the property owner has the right to remove the signs.

For questions regarding the by-law governing signs please contact the Sarnia By-Law Department at 519-332-0330.
