Public Advised to Avoid Blackwell Sideroad Beach

By City Staff

The City of Sarnia would like to advise the public to avoid the area of Blackwell Sideroad Beach. The vertical steel seawall protecting the right of way has collapsed allowing severe erosion to occur. The native sandy soils are prone to further erosion and the area is unstable.

Interim measures are being investigated to make the area safe for public access and to prevent further loss of property.

We ask residents to discuss these dangers with their families and to please avoid the area.

The beach area has been barricaded and danger signs have been posted.
