The City of Sarnia and the Age-Friendly Sarnia Steering Committee invites all members of the public to join us at the Age-Friendly Summit. The summit will be held on November 24, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Lambton College Event Centre and will feature the research results and recommended action items to make the City of Sarnia more Age-Friendly.
Guest speakers include:
Age-Friendly London: Michelle Dellamora, Supervisor for Age-Friendly London, will present how the Age-Friendly London Network has been making London a more Age-Friendly city through the implementation of their community-driven, three-year action plan. Now having completed the action plan, London is in the process of evaluating the impact age-friendly has had on the Forest City.
Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA): Leslie McAdam, the National Education Coordinator for CCAA, will present research and project findings on the active aging population, aging in place strategies, and functional mobility. CCAA promotes and encourages an active healthy lifestyle for Canadian adults that will enhance the aging process.
Age-Friendly Sarnia: Matt Hutchinson, Research Coordinator, will present the research results and recommendations for the City of Sarnia to become more age-friendly. Attendees will prioritize the recommendations for the City that will become the basis of the Age-Friendly Sarnia Action Plan.
