Tulips Planted for Canada's 150th Birthday
By City Staff
The Sarnia Horticultural Society was chosen as a recipient of a Happy 150th Birthday Canada Celebration Garden package containing 500 Red Impression and 500 White Hakuun tulips.
The bulbs were planted at the Golden Hawk monument in Germain Park on Friday, October 21.
“We asked the City if we could plant the blubs at the Golden Hawk monument so this could be the Sarnia Horticulture Society’s gift to the City of Sarnia for the 150th birthday celebration,” explains Barb Toye, President, Sarnia Horticultural Society. “Jane Bastien, horticulturist with the City of Sarnia Parks & Recreation Department, and her crew offered to plant all the bulbs.”
“We are very excited to be able to give this gift to the City of Sarnia,” explains Toye.
