Review of the Open Storage of Recreational Vehicles, Trailers and Boats on Residential Lots

At it's September 14 meeting, Council will consider by-law changes regarding the open storage of recreational vehicles, trailers and boats on residential lots.

The Zoning By-law currently allows them in all rural and residential areas. However, on most residential lots they are not permitted in:

  • day-light corners;
  • required parking spaces;
  • front yards; or
  • exterior side yards other than on a driveway.

Council received a request to amend the Zoning By-law to allow for the open storage of recreational vehicles, trailers and boats on driveways in the front yards of all residential lots between May and October.

If you would like to comment on the proposed change, please e-mail planning@sarnia.ca.
