Site Plan Control - Draft By-law
Site Plan Control is a planning tool provided to municipalities by the Planning Act that enables the City to approve the design and technical aspects of a proposed development to ensure it is attractive, functional and compatible with the surrounding area or planning context.
Planning Staff have prepared a proposed Site Plan Control By-law to replace By-law 17 of 1991 of the City of Sarnia-Clearwater and its amendments. The proposed By-law is provided below and would include updates to reflect current Planning Act sections, language and municipal authority in site plan control matters including requirements to consider persons with disabilities, and public realm and sustainability matters. It is also proposed to align the By-law with Section 67 of the Planning Act to allow for more efficient administration and enforcement for by-law contraventions.
Please review the attached and provide any comments to the City Planning Division by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by writing to: Planning and Building Department, 255 N.
