Care-a-Van provides local public transportation in the Sarnia and Point Edward areas to people who are unable to use regular Sarnia Transit service, due to a physical disability, and who are registered with Sarnia Care-a-Van. Our Care-a-Van service provides accessible door to door transportation using lift equipped vehicles.

Guidelines for the use of Sarnia Care-A-Van are as follows:
Care A Van Services are for residents of the City of Sarnia who are unable to use conventional fixed-route transit due to physical disability as per the Integrated Regulations of the AODA. Those with cognitive disabilities may be eligible if their cognitive disability severely impacts their physical ability to use conventional transit facilities and vehicles (e.g., physical ability to board a conventional bus). Eligibility is considered on a case-by-case basis and is not based on a specific health condition but how a specific medical condition impacts mobility.

Sarnia Care-a-Van Companions and Children
Providing space is available, companions and children may travel with persons with disabilities on Sarnia Care-a-Van. The same fare is charged for each child or companion according to Sarnia Transit's current fare schedule. It is the responsibility of the passenger to provide a child securement system if required, for example a car seat or booster seat.
