Sarnia Summer Events Program
Goal: $17,000 Total raised: $6,327.45
The Sarnia Summer Events Program provides fun, experiential and educational events and programs aimed at supporting all demographics in our community from children to seniors. All of our events and programs are local, and run in cooperation with the community, for the community.
Featured events include Kids Funfest, Tobacco-Free Outdoor Movie Night, Children’s Art Workshop, Hobbyfest, and the Summer Entertainment Series. This concert “Entertainment Series” runs from early June to late August and features concerts On the Waterfront (Canatara Bandshell and the Suncor Agora), Kenwick on the Lake (Kenwick Park Gazebo), and Music in the Garden (Germain Park). In 2016, the Entertainment Series began a youth mini-series, Get Out of the Garage, which introduced a new Battle of the Bands event for 2018.
Donations allow the Parks & Recreation Department to expand its programs, services, and initiatives, and enhance City of Sarnia facilities & programming.

Sarnia Arena Revitalization Project
Goal: $491,667 Total raised: $200,000 (approx.)
Originally built in the 1940s, the Sarnia Arena has served as a community skating and hockey hub for multiple generations. Due to the age of the facility, many elements require improvements for the safety and comfort of arena users.
Sarnia Arena project improvements will be based on revitalizing the historical elements of the facility and improving the experience of the users while exceeding accessibility standards, and improving energy efficiency. Façade and exterior repairs, lobby and concession improvements, barrier free access to washrooms and change room upgrades are planned for this project.
Construction is currently underway and the first phase of the project is set to be completed by May 2018. Further improvements and enhancements will continue throughout 2018 and 2019.
For more information about this project please contact Ryan Chamney, Manager of Recreation and Planning, at 519-332-0527 Ext. 3202 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
