Planning Advisory Committee - Draft By-law and Terms of Reference

The Planning Advisory Committee is an appointed committee of Council which acts as an advisor to Council on community planning matters and assists in the undertaking of major planning assignments including reviews of the Official Plan and Zoning By-law.

Planning Staff have prepared a proposed Planning Advisory Committee By-law and Terms of Reference to govern the appointment, mandate and duties of that committee. The proposed By-law and Terms of Reference are provided below.  The proposed by-law would replace By-law 13 of 1991 of the City of Sarnia-Clearwater and include updates that reflect current Planning Act sections, modern City committee appointment durations, and references to applicable policies and procedures including the Council adopted Code of Conduct.

Please review the attached and provide any comments to the City Planning Division by email to planning@sarnia.ca or by writing to: Planning and Building Department, 255 N. Christina Street, PO Box 3018, Sarnia ON, N7T 7N2 Comments are requested by Monday, January 23, 2016 to allow Planning Staff to consider include them in a final report for Council consideration at the February 6, 2017 Sarnia City Council meeting.
