Leaders in Training
Parks and Recreation selects and trains persons at least 14 years of age with apparent leadership abilities for recreation programs. These persons are enrolled as Leaders in Training (L.I.T.). Successful applicants are given an opportunity to work on a volunteer basis without pay for a minimum period of time in the program of their choice. In addition, opportunities may be available to participate in regular or special leadership training courses. At the end of the training period an L.I.T. may apply for a further training period.
